Fundraisers

One of the 5 ways teams can raise funds is to host a fund raiser.  Fund raisers are about providing a good or service to a person in exchange for cash.  The cash may be considered a donation or a payment depending on how the fund raiser is set up.  Fund raisers are one of the riskier ways to raise funds since you need to make investment into the fund raiser in terms of cash or time.  For this reasons teams need to meticulously plan fund raisers so that they actually raise funds.

Example fund raisers

  • Sell pizza in school or after school – could raise between $50 – $300
  • Sell desserts in school or after school – could raise between $50 – $300
  • Car wash – could raise between $50 – $300
  • Chipotle fund raiser – could raise between $50 – $300
  • Applebee’s fund raiser – could raise between $50 – $300
  • Video game competition – could raise between $50 – $300
  • Sell desserts at a public event – could raise between $100 – $1,000
  • Pre-order sales drive – could raise between $100 – $1,000
  • Car wash – could raise between $100 – $1,000

Above are just a few examples of simple fund raisers.  There are definitely much more advanced and profitable fund raisers like gala, summer camps, runs, golf tournaments that have great how to guides found on the web.  In all cases, make sure you do a thorough job of planning.
