EVENT SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS

Wednesday – Pits open 5 pm – 9 pm

– Inspection is primary goal for Wednesday evening

– Pits can be set up

– Encouraged to bring a small group, but no set limit

Thursday – Early Pits Opening from 7:45 am – 8:30 am. Pit only are open. No one in the stands.

– Venue including pits/stands open 8:30 am – 8:00 pm

– Camera calibration and connectivity tests by FTA approval pre driver’s meeting 830-920

– Drivers meeting at 9:30 am

– Practice matches 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

– Qualification matches start at 2:00 pm

Friday – Pits 8 am – 7 pm

– Opening Ceremony 8:30 am

– Qualification matches continue at 9:00 am

– No Friday Award Ceremony

Saturday – Pits 8 am – 6:30 pm

– Opening Ceremony 8:30 am

– Alliance selection 12:15 pm

– Awards Ceremony 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

ROSTERS, DRIVE TEAM BUTTONS, AND SAFETY GLASSES

All teams have turned in consent forms at previous events and do not need to resubmit. Team must bring a printed copy of their team roster. New drive team buttons will not be available due to the short timeline between the District Championship and the last District event. Teams are asked to bring a set of drive team buttons from a previous district event. Please remember to bring safety glasses for your team members. They should not be stored in the pits. You will need them to walk into the pit each morning.

TEAM FOOD

No outside food is permitted at this event. Teams are allowed to bring in water for their team but only during the Wednesday evening and early Thursday load in hours and will not be allowed through the front doors. The water must be brought in through the loading dock during these hours and kept in teams pit areas.

Orders are due by April 4th.

NO ROBOT ACCESS PERIOD

Teams DO NOT have a robot access period ahead of the District Championship since the event is a full 3 day event. Do not unbag your robot until an inspector signs off on your form once you arrive at the event.

QUALIFYING FOR FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP: BE PREPARED

FIRST Chesapeake will be sending 25 representative teams to FIRST Championship in St Louis April 27-30, 2016. The three District Championship Chairmans, two Engineering Inspiration, and one Rookie All Star winners as well as the members of the winning alliance (including any back-up robots) will all receive invitations. The remaining 15 or 16 slots will be offered to teams based on district point ranking at the conclusion of the District Championship.

After the award ceremony, teams will be asked to stay while the Championship selection process is conducted. Teams should come prepared with a response to accept or decline the FIRST Championship invitation to expedite the process. Teams moving on will need to pay the $5000 registration fee to FIRST by 5:00 pm on April 12th.

NATIONAL ANTHEM SING

Student singers will sing the National Anthem for both Saturday and Sunday opening ceremonies. Practice will be held at 8:30 AM on Thursday. Students should meet at the FIRST Stop welcome table. Mentors should register interested students here:
