We are getting closer to full systems power on. Last night we had to make a modification to our bumper design so that they would fit and be more easy to install and remove. We may still have some more modifications to make. From a structural perspective our turret and drive train have been mated and all we have left to do is assembly the shooting arm and get it installed. that should be done today. This will allow the electrical and code teams to start their work in earnest with the plan of our first systems test tomorrow.
On Monday we will have an admin meeting at 5pm. We recommend that all of the students attend. We need to go over all of the tasks we need to accomplish prior to the events we are hosting on March 11th.
Drive selection was going to occur today, but because the robot will not be ready we will do driver selection on Wednesday. There will be a drive test and a rules test for each candidate who wants to be part of the drive team, so start reading.
Next weekend we are going to be splitting the team, some folks will be going to the Stem Action center in Columbia to get some on field practice time and the rest will stay back at Whitman to work on secondary design priorities and competition prep activities. So much to do and so little time.
Thanks to Mr. Chen we were able to get a few extra hours in the lab today. And as a Bonus the folks from team 4099 will be joining us today so that they can get some extra time to recover from the 8 days of snow we received this season. This weekend will be very critical for all fo the teams in the region since we may have some more snow later this week which could lead to additional lost build time for teams.
